Hoo's Ready To Rock Party.

Well our party at Hoo finally arrived, 197 tickets sold an we had glorious weather (nearly). A crowd of us started setting up camp on the Thursday and a stayed the night for relaxing shandy or two. By Friday evening 90% had turned up and headed for the bar. As you know we had the band on Friday evening originally just for the hour, but everyone was enjoying it so much they played further half an hour, and in between our smooth operator bald eagle with his faultless Disco.

Saturday arrived to early for me and a lot of others I imagine, but the show must go on as they say, Odin organized a small ride out at 11am to Leysdown (thanks for that Odin), and to Pete Abbott who helped.

Saturday afternoon we had some silly games planned, slow bike ride, balloons over bar (well done Anne/ God3 they won)] an the frozen ‘T’ shirt competition, well the game was worth watching just to see how they went about it, and if you didn’t see how winning team managed it ask someone, very clever??, all in all good fun and a lot of other VSOC Centers remarked that they enjoyed it, now you wait till next yrs rally/ parties I bet at least two centers will have games.

Now my highlight was the magician’s early Saturday evening, before they started I know they were nervous about performing in front of you mean bikers and again only booked for the hour, 2 ½ hrs later they finished and really enjoyed the night and asked me to pass on there thanks for enjoyable evening. Again this act went down well with people watching , then back to band /DJ for rest of the evening.

Now in-between all this enjoyment and frolicking we had our raffle, most of you would have seen the table with prizes on. Me personally I thought it was top stuff, on this note the club owe Dumbo a big thank you as in the course of his working day he managed to scrounge the majority of the raffle prizes from his clients, (thanks mate, and I still won bugger all).

As for our sales man with raffle tickets he managed to collect a tidy sum nice one Steve.

Well Sunday arrived an summer had gone and replaced with autumn, or in plain English poxy rain. Lucky for us the party had finished but not two clever for members riding home and we hope they had safe journey. On that note 5 members from Preston took 8 hrs to arrive on Friday due to getting lost and road closures. A journey which should have taken 5 at most, but they still enjoyed the weekend.

Well it’s the end as they say and I think I speak for everyone. To everyone that pitched in big or small, it all helped and to minority who didn’t well that wasn’t a surprise.

Our thanks have been passed on to Sturdee club for the venue. He was just as pleased that all went well, and that no problems for the venue occurred. All in all we have had a lot of feedback and all agree it was an outstanding success so well done everyone. One last thing as with any rally / party mistakes can / will happen which we will discuss at later date, on a personal note I enjoyed the party and would like to thank everyone not just party committee for help etc, now your all bored so I’ll go
