TOUR DE FRANCE/SPAIN

One night we had friends over for a traditional English meal, kebab / chips, and in talking I mentioned that I'd fancy riding to the new bridge in Millau [France] staying the night and back home. Well this mate has 2 properties in Spain and said why not continue to Spain. Well four months later we leave Sittingbourne at 4am to catch 6am ferry and were off. Once other side its straight onto A16 and motorways 90% of the way [due to lots miles and not a lot time spare]. The weather was hot [both ways] an the roads are empty an you don't see police or camera's every 100ft. Due to cruising between 80-90 mph we were petrol stopping every 100 miles to give our arse's a 5 min break. First day we clocked up 540 miles over 13hrs and believe me it went quick. We then found a cheap [but clean] bed for night. Next morning had easy 300 mile ride into Spain to place called Rosiexs approx 100 miles from Barcelona right on the sea front. Well we had four days chilling by water or on mates boat but this went quick, but I will say this, the area was lovely an not your typical Spain / Margate look. In between our adventure the girls flew to Spain so they got loads of chilling time an only paid £70.00 return flights. On our first days riding home we clocked up 620 miles an yes more sore/numb arse's then bed again, due to clocking up miles an plenty of spare time we diverted along the coast line back to Calais an the scenery was worth it alone. Two things of note- France is big, and no matter how comfy your seat looks after few hrs your bum goes numb.

More importantly would I do it again, YES without a doubt. In just under 4 days riding I clocked up 1845 miles, and the bikes behaved themselves.

Point you should take note on- euro tunnel wanted £107.00 [week return] yep me /bike for that amount??? 675940 420491118099 P&O ferries £38.00 so although we sat on ferry for hour an half the difference was our fuel money, well worth it.

Now were home the next couple wks were having get together again for photo's etc well I might just mention I fancy trip to Italy.
